EGGS AND BACON BAY COTTAGE, HUON REGION

Eggs and Bacon Bay Cottage overlooks the Huon River and D’Entrecasteaux Channel. Since moving there in 2000, Anne Le Fevre has transformed what was once overgrown bush into a thriving cottage garden. Starting with heavy clay and no topsoil, she built the soil through years of mulching with seaweed, silage, hay and tree mulch, creating around 30 cm of rich topsoil. Today the garden is filled with roses, salvias, shrubs, trees, perennials and a small nursery for propagated plants. Anne’s passion for unusual plants shines throughout this beautiful garden, featured on Gardening Australia (click here)
